Sounds at the Shell - Student Led Project

As part of the Year 10 Special Interest Music curriculum, one of the topics studied has been music event planning. The students have planned three different types of music events this year with their final product being a community event ‘Sounds at the Shell’. The event was held Wednesday 10 November at Edwards Square, Murray Bridge.

The event was filled with live music from ‘The Station’, Murray Bridge High Year 8 and 10 rock bands, duets, and entrepreneurial stalls and activities.

We would like to especially thank ‘The Station’ for providing a fabulous set of live music, the Rotary clubs of Murray Bridge, Mobilong and Tailem Bend for selling food and drinks, Headspace for their stall and support and the Rural City of Murray Bridge for their use of the venue and the opportunity to apply and be awarded a quick grant to finance the advertising for our event.

The students made the decision for profit from stalls to go towards supporting the organisation ‘Beyond Blue’, we would like to especially thank Rotary for their generosity of food and drinks profit in supporting this. Stay tuned to hear the final amount of money raised!

This event was dreamed, planned, executed and led by Year 10 music students Baylee Cooper, Akaila Baltussen, Peyton Allen, Jazmin Catanzariti, Bella Cameron and Hannah McFee.
